I attended a workshop recently sponsored by ABS-CBN and TFC. They have been holding these workshops all over the world where there are many young Filipinos residing. This is the first time they are holding it in Madrid and I was invited.

One of the sessions required us to write a poem about ourselves and this is the fruit of my inspiration:
THE QUILT LIKE I AM
Patches of clothes,
memories of the past
Reminder of something
that nothing can ever last.
The quilt like I am,
my life with many shades
of black, white, red and blue,
but beauty never fades.
The more pain puts in,
ugly patches with its flaw
The quilt like I am,
has more love to show.
Regret never ceases,
fears i cannot hide
lost in the horizon,
struggling amidst the tide.
But the love of up above,
like someone's magical hand,
made the quilt a masterpiece,
and a hope that made me stand.
